Discover our tips for achieving the most natural-looking and longest-lasting tan.
Waxing should be done at least 48 hours before your appointment, and shaving should be done with a razor that does not have a moisture strip.
Stray away from a body scrub/loofah combo as most are oil-based and will leave a residue. Instead, use an exfoliating mitt.
Any bar soaps/cream-based body washes (Dove specifically) are known to leave a residue on the skin and can create a barrier that the tan cannot penetrate through and may leave streaks. Any gel-based body wash is best. Showering should be completed at least four hours prior to tanning to allow your pH levels to neutralize. If you must shower within four hours, run cold water at the end of your shower.
Wear dark, loose-fitting clothing with open-toed sandals. Please note that the bronzer in solution may transfer to your items, but is water soluble and should wash out.
Tanning should always be the last beauty treatment completed due to the barriers that spa treatment products can create. Complete all facials, and massages the day prior.
Make sure any manicures or pedicures are completed before your spray tan appointment. Nail polish, whether fresh or not, will not interfere with your tan, so feel free to have your nails done ahead of time. However, if you plan on getting a manicure or pedicure afterward, schedule it at least 24 hours after your spray tan to avoid any removal or disruption of the tanning solution on your hands or feet. Avoid using oily cuticle creams or lotions on the day of your appointment, as they can create barriers similar to other skin products.
Avoid using lotions, oils, deodorant, perfumes, or makeup on the day of your appointment, as these can create a barrier on the skin that prevents the tan from adhering properly.Discontinue the use of retinol, glycolic acid, and active serums three days before your tan and wait four days after your tan to resume use.
Vitamin C can be used but should be avoided on the day of your spray tanning appointment.A small amount of moisturizer is acceptable on the face prior to your spray tanning appointment. If you have a Morpheus8 treatment scheduled, you must be spray tan-free for two weeks before this treatment.
Additionally, please refrain from spray tanning for at least 48-72 hours post-Morpheus8 treatment.

Avoid getting wet or sweating until your initial rinse. This includes no showering, working out, applying lotions, or using liquid foundations on your skin until after your first rinse. Additionally, if you have pets, prevent them from licking your skin.
Avoid using any loofahs or wash rags during your showers. It is best to wash with hands only in areas where needed (pits + privates) to ensure a long-lasting tan. A gel-based body wash is best
If you touch yourself while your tan is developing, this could result in stained palms.
Avoid swimming in the pool/ocean for long periods of time, long hot showers/baths, saunas, and excessive sweating. Your tan will not last very long if you are planning on doing any of these activities.
If you do not rinse at your designated time, your tan may develop too light or too dark. Do not use soap. The temperature should be lukewarm. If you see streaks after getting out of the shower, hop back in and use your hand to guide the leftover bronzer off
The more hydrated your skin is, the longer your tan will last. Your moisturizer should be free of mineral oil and artificial fragrance. You may use a tan extending lotion that contains DHA after day three. In addition, be sure to drink lots of water.
